Maria Benzon was a member of the Educator Leadership Council from 2019-2025.
Dr. Maria Benzon is a seasoned educator with over 24 years of experience leading and teaching in urban public schools and universities. She has shared her knowledge and experience in math curriculum and instruction, as well as her research in cognitive science, motivation, and racial-ethnic identity, with educators at local and national STEM workshops. As an educator, Dr. Benzon has worked to empower all students, especially historically marginalized voices, to learn via equitable supports and strategies.
