Adam E. Smith was the Associate Director of Inclusive R&D Partnerships for the EF+Math Program and served on the EF+Math Executive Team from 2020–2025.
Prior to joining the EF+Math team, Smith served as a K-5 math curriculum coordinator in the St. Louis area, where he restructured math instruction, implemented new curricular programming, and led shifts in professional development for math teaching and learning for all staff. He has also presented at local, state, and national conferences on issues of critical race theory and education, critical pedagogy, and math self-efficacy of Black students. Smith began his career as a high school math teacher in Jackson, Mississippi, where he also was an assistant professor of mathematics at Tougaloo College. He holds a M.Ed. from Vanderbilt University and a B.S./B.A. from Tougaloo College.
