Hannah Habte

Hannah Habte is a Fourth Grade Teacher in Brooklyn, New York, where she serves as Math Leader, making lesson plans for the grade, leading data analysis and supporting other teachers in their math instruction. Her teaching career started in 2013 when she joined Teach for America and began teaching third grade at Bushwick Ascend, eventually serving as Grade Team Leader and Math Leader. She developed the third grade math curriculum, coached fellow teachers and led teachers through lesson plan studies and data analysis. The network also used videos of her teaching to train other teachers in the network in strong math instruction. During her time at both schools, students in the grades she served made significant growth on both internal tests and standardized assessments. Habte earned her BA in African American Studies from Harvard University and her MA in Education from Fordham University.
