Lourdes M. Acevedo-Farag is a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Irvine.
Lourdes M. Acevedo-Farag designs playful math experiences that bridge research and classroom practice. A former middle school teacher and now an education researcher at the University of California, Irvine, she studies how design features, such as structured tasks and scaffolding, work in tandem with teacher facilitation to support students’ engagement and executive function in learning.
Her work is grounded in the realities of classroom teaching and guided by a commitment to bridging research and practice. By partnering with educators, Lourdes translates research on learning and cognition into designs that are developmentally sound, instructionally feasible, and authentically engaging.
